Which Is Better? Plastic Tape Sealer or Plastic Sealant?

If you’re going to use plastic tape to seal up a hole in your car’s hood, you’re better off using seal tape instead.

It has a much shorter life span than plastic and the tape won’t break down easily when it gets wet, making it a more efficient sealer than plastic sealant.

The downside of this tape is that it tends to scratch easily when you try to clean the hole, but the benefits outweigh the disadvantages, so if you’re in the market for a sealer that won’t tear or break, then plastic tape is the way to go.

The Bottom Line For safety reasons, we don’t recommend using plastic tape sealers for every hole you seal.

In fact, most of the time, you should avoid using plastic sealers altogether unless you have to.

The good news is that you can make your car interior look like it’s coming off with a new seal.
